A Half Marathon and 3,000m for UNICEF

On 7th October, I am running a half marathon in London, 13.1 miles around some of the same course used for the Olympic Marathon and ending in Hyde Park where Alistair Brownlee won the triathlon gold. My modest aim is to run faster than Usain Bolt while doing it.*

While I'm out on the half marathon course, my older son Elijah runs in the Pulse3K (two days before his 12th birthday), a 3,000 metre youth race around Hyde Park which ends at the Half Marathon finish.

We are both raising money for UNICEF with a target of £500 and as we continue our training, I'm seeking your donations, every bit of which will go straight to UNICEF. Plus, my company has pledged to match every donation, so UNICEF will benefit twice from whatever you can spare. Please use the link below to go direct to UNICEF, click the big green button on the right, and make your donation:

Thank you! I will report back when the race is over to let you know how we both got on.

David (and Elijah)

* Exhaustive internet research indicates that Usain Bolt has never run a half-marathon in London so a speedier run should be on the cards. If it turns out he has run one, replace his name with Yohan Blake **
